The first time I ever had a squash blossom, it was stuffed with goat cheese and lightly fried, and it was ridiculously delicious. Squash blossoms usually come from zucchinis, but they don't have to. They can come from other squash. And if you have a squash blossom or a zucchini blossom as sometimes they're called, and there is no squash. It might be because the female was not pollinated with the male or you know how the bees you know it anyway I don't wanna talk about it. That's too adult.
But the fact of the matter is that they are delicate and gentle and beautiful and they come in the late spring and throughout the summer and then at the other end of the year, there's a lot of squash. Squash blossoms are something you should try. Something you can throw into a salad and something you can love. Savoring Sonoma, I'm Clark Wolf for KRCB.
