I know that people collect seeds later in the year. They have beautiful heirloom seed packets in a lot of shops all through Sonoma County. And you know, they're a very valuable part of our entire existence. But I'll tell you where I really like seeds. In watermelon, I do not like seedless watermelons. Marion Cunningham, the late great author used to say about olives that an olive without a pit is an olive with no soul.
That's how I feel about Watermelon, generally speaking, I don't mind having a chance to be a little bit of a kid and pop out those black seeds across the the yard, across the kitchen if I want to. Generally speaking, my experience is that the melons with seeds just have more flavor. Saving Sonoma, I'm Clark Wolf for KRCB.
