A federal judge has ruled against President Donald Trump’s decision to freeze $2.4 billion in National Institutes of Health (NIH) grants allocated to research on gender identity and other fields tied to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives. Vance Boelter, the 57-year-old anti-LGBTQ+ evangelical Christian accused of killing a pro-LGBTQ+ Minnesota state Democratic lawmaker and her husband over the weekend, has finally been arrested after an intense manhunt and will face four charges of second-degree murder. Last week, members of the Changed Movement gathered on the steps of the California State Capitol and rallied for gay people who want to find Christ and abandon the “LGBTQ lifestyle.”The organization’s name is slippery, and that may be the point.  And here locally, the 55th annual San Francisco Pride celebration happens next weekend, June 28 and 29.  The theme is Queer Joy is Resistance.

The festival opens at noon on Saturday in Civic Center plaza and features multiple performance stages, an 18+ zone, and a street fair with over 300 artists and exhibitors.  The parade starts at 10AM on Market Street at Embarcadero Plaza. The parade typically has over 250 contingents and lasts around 4 hours. Contingents step onto Market Street and proceed toward the Pride Celebration, ending around Market and 9th.
