Forward progress has been stopped on back-country vegetation fire that sparked where Napa, Lake and Yolo counties meet. CalFire says the Head Fire has now burned around 95 acres in an area just north of the Knoxville Recreation Area..
No structures are threatened and the fire is now 10% contained
The latest update on the CalFire incidents page says there are 11 engines, 7 water tenders, 5 hand crews, 4 dozers, two helicopters and multiple aircraft working the fire with additional resources requested, and that short-range spotting behavior has been observed.
Watch Duty says the fire was first observed on the AlertCalifornia camera network around 6:40 this morning, while the CalFire incident page says it started last night just before midnight near Berryessa Knoxville Road and Knoxville Devilhead Road, in the far north of Napa County.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined
