A car crash around 9:20 AM on 30 July toppled a power pole and lines on the side of US 101 near the 
interchange with Highway 37 in Novato. The California Highway Patrol shut down traffic on US 101 
north and southbound, as well as the connection to Highway 37 eastbound to allow fire crews to respond.

Some lanes on US Highway 101 in Novato are now open, after a morning car crash, downed power lines, and a vegetation fire caused temporary closures.

According to CHP incident logs lanes 1 & 2 in both directions on US 101 are now open.

According to Watch Duty, crews are at scene of the small vegetation fire, and the California Highway Patrol Marin County Office says Pacific Gas & Electric crews are actively working to remove live power lines.

US Highway 101 north and southbound, and the connection to State Route 37 eastbound had been shut down following the crash around 9:20 A.M.

CHP Marin is urging drivers to find an alternative route while emergency responders work to fully open the roadway.
